Four friends and fellow Berlin songwriters unite on stage to tell stories, exchange ideas, and accompany each other on various instruments while performing their original songs together.

EVENT DESCRIPTION:

Many musicians come to Berlin because it is a place where you can earn a stable livelihood doing what you love to do: freely writing and expressing yourself in song. These people are called songwriters, and they do something most people wouldn’t: they sing in front of strangers – not the words someone else made popular, but the words etched in their heart.

Songwriters and musicians have always been a minority among the whole. While some countries prohibit these people from playing music in public, in Berlin, society respects the creative work of songwriters, and the community supports it how they can. 

It’s this community support that keeps Berlin a place where original music, or personal expression in song, can thrive and be heard.

For those not living in Berlin, or who are unfamiliar with the explosive local music culture in Berlin, it may seem as if the artists are all living in thier own bubble: they write and release songs, make posts about their projects, and do concerts around the city. But in reality, Berlin creatives are doing much more: they are turning the Berlin music scene into a growing Berlin music community. 

This cultural transition from a scene into a community happens when local songwriters interact with each other, not to compete, but to support each another to reach common goals. 

They are inspiring each other’s music. They are celebrating each other’s victories. They are singing each other’s songs. 

This event puts this unique community connection between Berlin songwriters on stage. They sit together in a semi-circle, perform, improvise, talk, and tell true stories. Everyone has a microphone and a slew of instruments are on stage which are passed between the artists during the show. The songwriters are already familiar with the songs everyone writes. It‘s intuition in motion.
