The Mary Onettes return with new album “SWORN”

After more than a decade away from the album format, Swedish dream pop pioneers The Mary Onettes return with “SWORN”—a sweeping and emotional new full-length album.

Formed in Jönköping in 2000, the band rose to international acclaim with their self-titled 2007 debut, praised by Pitchfork, Stereogum, and The Guardian, and later featured in iconic series such as Grey’s Anatomy and First Love (Netflix Japan). Known for their lush textures, nostalgic atmosphere, and emotionally charged songwriting, they have remained a cult favorite throughout their quieter years.

Now, with “SWORN”, The Mary Onettes reclaim their place at the forefront of Scandinavian dream pop. The album collects a series of recent singles including “Tears To An Ocean”, the atmospheric “Hurricane Heart”, ”Eyes Open” (featuring Maja Milner of fellow Swedish band Makthaverskan), and “Without This Body” - alongside new material that delves deeper into themes of emotional renewal, identity, and time. “Slide”, a haunting highlight, captures the ache of fading connection and the quiet resignation of letting go.
