Blondy Brownie

"Female Post Pop from Brussels" gibt es beim heutigen Osterkonzert, nämlich das Hafen 2 Debüt der kleinen Band Blondy Brownie, deren Protagonistinnen Aurélie Muller und Catherine De Biasio jedoch auch durch ihre Aktivitäten in anderen Bands (bspw. River Into Lake, die hier bereits gespielt haben) keine Unbekannten sind.

Blondy Brownie is a duo (live: a trio) formed of two well-known musicians from the Belgian indie scene: Aurélie Muller and Catherine De Biasio. Over the last two decades, Aurélie and Catherine have been active in many different projects and bands (Mièle, TRESOR, Melon Galia, soy un caballo, River Into Lake, Ici Baba, etc.) and have certainly been pushing the representation of female artists and musicians in the sector. 
 
Their new album "Club Cha-cha-cha" has been recorded in the Belgian Ardennes and was mixed and produced in Portland, US by the figure of the Chicago scene, John McEntire (Tortoise, The Sea and Cake, Gastr Del Sol). With the new album, Blondy Brownie delivers 8 shiny indie pop songs where analogue sounds, psyche-pop arrangements and catchy melodies are intertwined. When listening to the new album, you could think of Stereolab, Broadcast or more recently Superorganism, with a melancholic and emotional dimension.
