art against agony - Kunst gegen Leid.
Die Musiker des Kunstprojektes 'art against agony' sind Maskenträger, weil sie besonderen Wert darauf legen wollen, dass am Ende der Applaus nicht ihren Gesichtern, Namen oder Körpern dient, sondern einzig und allein der Musik.
Stilistisch wurde die virtuose Jazz/Metal-Fraktion schon dem 'Prog-Jazz-Experimental-Hirnfick-Metal' (metal.de) zugeordnet, 2017 wurde die Band sogar als ‚Messias des Prog’ bezeichnet (progsphere.com) und performte bisher im Vorprogramm der deutschen Jazzmetal-Legenden von Panzerballett und den britischen Progrockern Haken.
Irrwitzige Skalen, krude Polyrhythmen und heftige dynamische Wechsel zwischen Jazz und Metal - all das ist nichts für schwache Gemüter. art against agony fordern während ihrer Show nicht nur sich selbst auf der Bühne, sondern auch das Publikum enorm.

CKRAFT
Frenchman Charles Kieny is a metalhead accordionist, who once saw a jazz band perform live. A decade later, after having studied Jazz and medieval music at the National Conservatoire in Paris, he gave birth to CKRAFT. "Uncommon Grounds," the band's second album, solidifies the quintet's distinctive style: intense, crushing and mystic. Blending elements of progressive, death, jazz, medieval melodies, saxophone, and synth-accordion, CKRAFT explores uncommon territories somewhere between Meshuggah and John Coltrane. Skilled musicians, including bassist Marc Karapetian - known for his recent collaboration with Tigran Hamasyan - playfully challenge conformism and push the boundaries of what’s headbangable. Tonight, CKRAFT is joined by guitarist Jan Zehrfeld from Panzerballett for an evening of weird riffs and improvisatory madness.
