Dan & Dota
Um reencontro: assim, depois de 20 anos, o cantor/compositor Danilo Guilherme retoma a parceria com Dota Kehr, artista alemã reconhecida em seu país por suas canções e letras (com mais de 7 milhões de plays no Spotify, com seus dois álbuns mais recentes na lista dos 10 mais ouvidos da Alemanha). O primeiro encontro aconteceu em Fortaleza- CE, em 2003, portanto, há exatos 20 anos, quando gravaram e lançaram o excelente "Mittelinselurlaub/perto da estrada“. Outro parceiro comum aos artistas é o músico Regis Damasceno, que está presente nas duas gravações, tocando guitarra, baixo e violão. Em 2008, Regis participa do álbum "Schall und Schatten /som e sombra“, com participações de Chico César e Fernando Catatau (Cidadão Instigado). Na versão de 2023, gravaram novamente em Fortaleza mais um disco, "De repente Fortaleza". Dessa vez, a baterista e cantora Ayla Lemos fez parte da formação, que gravou 12 músicas que serão lançadas na metade de 2024. O som é a mistura inusitada entre a MPB e a canção pop alemã. Chico César mais uma vez participa em um dueto com Dota Kehr. Shows estão sendo agendados para o ano de 2024.
The Cearense songwriter Danilo Guilherme and the Berlin born singer Dota Kehr, well known in Germany for her songs and lyrics (with more than 7 million spotify clicks, andher last two albums entering the top ten in the album charts), have come together to form a new collaboration. Joined by guitarrist Regis Damasceno (who already recorded with well known artists like Arnaldo Antunes, Tom Zé, Maria Bethânia and played live with Gal Costa, Vanessa da Matta and Céu and the drummer and singer Ayla Lemos from Fortaleza, they have created an original band sound and recorded twelve songs for the new album „De repente Fortaleza“.
This isn´t the first time the transatlantic friends have teamed up to record. In 2003 Danilo and Dota released „Mittelinselurlaub/perto da estrada“ and in 2008 Dota and Regis recorded „Schall und Schatten /som e sombra“ featuring Chico César and Fernando Catatau (from the band Cidadão Instigado). The album „De repente Fortaleza“ will be released in the summer of 2024 - uniting MPB (musica popular do brasil) with a contemporary sound and combining the Fortaleza and Berlin roots of the participating musicians. The famous Brasilian artist Chico Cesár also appears as special guest, singing a duet with Dota. Several concerts in Germany featuring the new collaboration are being planned.
Eine Wiederbegegnung: 20 Jahre nach ihrem ersten gemeinsamen Album treffen sich der brasilianische Songwriter Danilo Guilherme aus Fortaleza und die Berliner Sängerin Dota Kehr (mehr als 7 Millionen Spotify Plays, die letzten beiden Alben in den Top Ten der deutschen Album Charts). Sie schreiben Songs zusammen, die die gemeinsame Geschichte wiederspiegeln und die Gegenwart einfangen. Gemeinsam mit dem Gitarrist Regis Damasceno (der schon mit Künstlern wie Arnaldo Antunes, Tom Zé, Maria Bethânia aufgenommen hat und live mit u.a. Gal Costa, Beto Guedes, Vanessa da Matta und Céu) und der Schlagzeugerin Ayla Lemos entsteht ein spannendes und zeitgemäßes Album mit dem Titel „Fortaleza“, das MPB (musica popular do brasil) mit einem modernen Sound verknüpft und die Wurzeln der beteiligten Musiker*innen in Ceará und Berlin aufgreift. Die erste Zusammenarbeit von Danilo und Dota war „Mittelinselurlaub“ 2003, ein Album das sowohl in Fortaleza als auch in Berlin seine Spuren hinterließ. In Sao Paulo entstand 2008 das Album „Schall und Schatten“, das Dota gemeinsam mit Regis aufnahm und das den Gitarristen Fernando Catatau und den bekannten Sänger Chico Cesár als musikalische Gäste hat. Das neue Album „De repente Fortaleza“ wird im Sommer 2024 erscheinen. Auch hier gibt sich der berühmte Chico Cesár die Ehre und singt erneut ein Duett mit Dota Kehr. Mehrere Konzerte sind für das zweite Halbjahr 2024 in Planung.
