Peki Momés ist eine türkische Sängerin, die in Leipzig lebt und seit 2023 Musik aufnimmt. Sie wird von einer Vielzahl von Stilen inspiriert: Disco, Funk, japanischem City Pop, türkischer Psychedelik und anatolischen Rhythmen. Sie singt auf Türkisch. Im September 2025 erschien ihr Debütalbum „Peki Momés“ beim Hamburger Label Mocambo Records.

Peki Momés genoss zwar keine musikalische Ausbildung, verfügt aber über eine kreative Ader. 2023 nahm sie durch einen Zufall das erste Mal Musik auf. Im folgenden Jahr erschien recht schnell ihre Debütsingle „Göç Mevsimi/Rüya“ bei der Plattenfirma Mocambo Records, eine ungemein groovige Aufnahme zwischen City Pop, tropischen Boogie-Sounds und Disco-Klängen. Ein attraktiver Mix, der sich auch in ihrer nächsten Single „Yıldız“ vom April 2025 zeigte, einer Cover-Version des Disco-Hits „Estrelar“ des brasilianischen Songwriters Marcos Valle. Sie erregte dadurch die Aufmerksamkeit von internationalen Größen wie dem japanischen DJ Coco, der ihre erste Single in sein Set aufnahm. Iggy Pop stellte einen Track in seiner Radioshow „Iggy Confidential“ vor.

Peki Momés' intuitive Herangehensweise zeigte sich auch auf ihrem selbstbetitelten Debütalbum, das im September 2025 erschien. Die zwölf Songs wurden von Dustin Braun produziert und von erlesenen Jazzmusiker*innen eingespielt. Peki Momés is a Turkish artist living in Germany – who only started to record music by accident in 2024. Blessed with style and intuition rather than formal education, her fresh and uncompromisingly authentic approach to music took hearts and ears by storm. 

Ever since her debut 45 on Mocambo Records, Peki Momés has become a little sensation in and outside the organic groove scene: turntablist DJ Koco played doubles of „Göc Mevsimi“ in his set, Iggy Pop announced „Rüya“ on his „Iggy Confidential“ show on BBC and the second vinyl single surprised everyone with a mesmerizing cover of Marco Valle’s much loved „Estrelar“ in the turkish language. Both records sold out quickly and are in the bags of tastemakers like Coco María.

Peki Momés’ music is an eclectic mix of sounds from the global underground, tastefully crafted by producer Dustin Braun and a troupe of ridiculously talented jazz musicians. Dirty disco, fuzzy funk, anatolian rare grooves, experimental synth, library music and japanese city pop all blend naturally with her distinct vocals to create a unique ethereal outernational sound that is all her own.

Peki Momes, a Turkish artist living in Germany, brings a fresh perspective to the world of groove music. The musical approach of the artist can be categorized into terms like Turkish disco, dancefloor jazz or Turkish city pop. 
Debut single came out in October, 2024 with a 7" vinyl, second single in April, 2025, featuring Turkish version of much loved Estrelar by Marcos Valle. Iggy Pop played Peki in his radio show, Coco Maria in her DJ sets.
